She was born in the UK but to keep her true identity secret, her parents gave her a name more suitable for integration. She was 13 when her father died and she helped her mother raise her siblings. Although they were raised as Sufis and believed in non-violence, when WWII broke out she and her brother decided to join in the war effort. They left to fight the fascists and Nora volunteered for the Woman's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF). She was trained as a radio operator and was recruited by Churchill to aid the Resistance movements in occupied countries. The WAAF's job was to sabotage and provide arms and money to the Resistance. Nora knew the position implied that she would not be wearing a uniform nor would she have any backup. If caught by the enemy, she would be on her own. During her time in Paris, she managed to elude an assault from the Germans, but all of the other wireless operators were captured and executed. London told her to come back but she knew they had no one else to continue the fight. She decided to stay, playing a cat and mouse game with the Germans who were actively looking for her. She was then betrayed and her location sold to the Germans for 100,000 francs. After her capture, she was taken to Pforzheim Prison and a few months later she was moved to another prison where she was beaten and tortured for information. During her torments, she remembered her father's words that she had "The blood of Tipu Sultan flowing in her veins." She called out to Durga, the Indian goddess, begging her to end her suffering. Whether the deed was brought about by Durga or not, Nora was shot in the head by an SS officer then thrown into a blazing crematorium. Strangely, her body didn't burn as the flames took hold of it. Instead, it began to glow more and more bright as the fire tried to consume it. And then, Nora opened her eyes and broke out of the blazing inferno. Taken by surprise, the soldiers started firing at her, but the bullets simply bounced off her glowing golden body. She jumped at them only to realise that she was flying, and upon reaching them, unleashed months worth of anger and pain. She killed every German at the prison and freed the prisoners. Back in the UK, the scientists ran tests trying to understand what had happened to her but finding no clear explanation, settled for what Nora had implied; that it was a gift from the gods. She then joined the Liberty Alliance and took the code name Golden Glory. Powers Super strength: Her physical strength has been estimated at roughly 40 tons of lift.
