When they arrived in France, the Show stopped at a small village to get supplies and the three friends went into an old Antique shop to look around. As they browsed the cluttered shop, an almost buried and dusty box caught their attention. Inside, they discovered three unique and stunning masks as well as a ribbon, 2 kali sticks and a pair of satin gloves. The three felt such items would be an added boost for their act. But the store owner didn't want to sell the masks. He said they had been hidden for a reason and swore that they were bewitched and would curse whoever wore them. But Emma and her troop were hooked. Being acrobats they threw down some money and took off with the box doing flips to avoid the owner from stopping them. Emma chose her mask and the pair of gloves. It was now opening night. They had tried their masks on while practicing their routine but it would be their first time wearing them in front of a crowd. As they donned their masks ready to dazzle the crowd something unexpected happened. The cheer of the crowd awakened the power in the masks. The ancient evil or spirit within took control of the performers. The three went out to perform but instead of entertaining the audience they attacked them, injuring many and killing others. Exhilarated by their murderous performance, the three longed to repeat it again but the circus had them expelled. That, however, did not stop them. For a brief time the three travelled the countryside performing and murdering under the name, the 3 Ringer Circus. In time, word of their killing spree spread and Hero groups started hunting them down. Since most of these hero super groups were larger in numbers, the three decided to join forces with others as depraved as they were and joined with the Freak Show. Powers Power accessory: The mask has given her a high degree of combat knowledge which combined with her acrobatic background makes her one of the deadliest hand to hand combatants known to man. Agility: Like her acolytes, Devil Stix and Aerial Silk, Trapeze is an amazing acrobat whose abilities have been enhanced. Wall crawling: Even if her gloves do not cover her hands, they enable her to grip virtually anything and she can climb walls or hold on to her trapeze with the tip of her finger. Martial arts: Emma's mask infused her brain with hundreds of ancient and lost forms of combat. Weaknesses: Although unconfirmed, it is possible that removing the mask may decrease her fighting abilities. |
