History

The Atlantean military has always kept a close eye over the surface people, and for a long time, their science and technology was far superior, but as the humans became more evolved, so did their science. To compound the problem, some humans were becoming enhanced, many of them developing abilities beyond those natural to their species, and for the most part, these changes were granted to individuals through genetic experiments.

The Atlanteans became worried that their superior position would not last for long. They needed to keep their advantage, so started their own projects towards that end. Volunteers were the best candidates for these experiments, and these were selected from the military division.

When Jaladi was old enough to join the military, he volunteered for these experiments. He wanted to be a part of the elite squad the military was forming. At first, however, it seemed that the experiments on him had been a failure. There had been no changes in his abilities, and Jaladi knew he would soon have to return to normal service.

Jaladi was sparring with another soldier when his opponent became violently sick. He became nauseous and started vomiting. His sense of balance was affected, and he experienced debilitating vertigo. It turned out that the experiments on Jaladi had been a success, after all.

Jaladi was given more training in the use of his abilities. He took on the code name, Seasick, and was eventually assigned to the Seaguard. Their primary mission is to defend Atlantis against the threat of the surface dwellers, and also to counter the increasing number of land dwellers with abilities.

Their current mission is to find and return the traitor known as Killer Wail, who had been banished, but is now regarded as a threat to Atlantean national security.
