At the start of WWII, he went to enlist even though he was below age. Many young men his age had done the same thing, and since the war needed able-bodied men, scrutiny was lax and John made it through the cracks. It was during basic training that his superiors noticed his abilities. Impressed by what they saw, he was pulled out of basic training and placed in a special program. He was told that the government was looking for special operatives to form an elite team. They would be known as the All-Winners Society. During his time with The All-Winners Society, he met and fell in love with a fellow hero named Minute Girl and the two later married. John later learned that the US was not the only country to have its elite team. Japan had also established its own under the name of the Society of Evil. The Japanese didn't see their operatives as evil. They were Japan's finest. But since the US propaganda kept labelling Japan as evil, they named their team to that effect, for to the Americans, this is how they would be viewed. The Society of Evil were to become the AWS's main antagonists. The Society of Evil was led by led by Mr Okada. Okada hated America and the AWS, but had a special hatred for Texas Two Gunn, whom he felt, was the most to symbolize the typical American. This hatred festered in him for years but Okada was a patient man. For what were years to one who was immortal? Okada bid his time and when all had forgotten about him, he sent his deadliest assassin, Poison Arrow, to kill him. Although the former AWS's gunslinger was now late in age, Poison arrow took his life nonetheless, but before she did, she made sure to tell him who had ordered his death. As he lay dying, John's granddaughter rushed by his side. She had heard the exchange and she vowed to Poison Arrow that she would avenge her grandfather. Poison Arrow laughed at the young girl as she walked away. John's granddaughter eventually followed in her grandparents' footsteps and joined the new AWS under the name Carrie A. Gunn. Powers Accuracy: John had the ability to hit anything he aimed at, whether it be with his pistols or his throwing knives. No one knows for sure if his skill was obtained from training, luck or some hidden ability. Weaknesses: Without his body armor he is completely human and vulnerable. Paraphernalia: Carries two revolvers and some throwing knives in his chaps. |
